Building Adventure

Arcane Artifactory is a brand that designs adventures for tabletop role-playing games, and then runs those adventures at open public tables with colorful maps and fully-painted 3D miniatures.

It didn't start out this way. Founded in 2020, Arcane Artifactory was originally conceived as a brand to sell game master support materials, such as printable playing cards to keep track of non-player characters and rules mods for D&D with high quality printed assets.

The logo design blends the dragon and wizard's tower fantasy tropes with mechanical gears to play on the terms "Arcane" and mashup of "Arifact" and "Factory" to evoke the genre-breaking concept of mechanized fantasy production. The dragon ouroboros alludes to the continual process of reprocessing ideas into new shapes; new artifacts, if you will.

As the pandemic began to wane, fatique with playing games online led to a natural desire to play with people in person, particularly new people who have never experience D&D-like games before.

There is so much more to tell about this story, but it will have to wait for another time.

Artifact Engine

Artifact Engine is a new tabletop game system that is designed to function like a video game engine, but for tabletop role-playing games; a simple, elegant system on which anybody can build their own games of any genre. It is still in the design and playtesting process.

As the first Arcane Artifactory product, the Artifact Engine logo design is derived from the Arcane Artifactory logo with a clean aesthetic that is suitable to sit alongside the primary branding of other products.
