Blue Lotus Neuropsychology
Project Type: Brand Identity, Website Design & Ongoing Website Management
Blue Lotus Neuropsychology is a psychological and neuropsychological testing practice based in Evanston, Illinois. From the very beginning, they needed more than just a website — they needed a clear identity, a professional online presence, and a technical setup that would be easy to manage as the practice grew.
This became a full, end-to-end engagement spanning brand identity, website design and development, and ongoing website management.
The Challenge
Blue Lotus was a brand-new practice preparing to open its doors. There was no existing name, no visual identity, and no online presence — but there was a clear need to communicate trust, professionalism, and care to patients navigating complex psychological evaluations.
The challenge was to:
- Develop a name and identity that felt credible without being clinical or cold
- Create a website that explained complex services clearly and calmly
- Launch quickly without locking the client into rigid tools or unnecessary long-term costs
- Ensure the site could evolve as the practice grew
Starting With the Brand
We began with brand and naming consultation, helping explore name options while researching similar practices throughout the Chicagoland area. Once Blue Lotus Neuropsychology was selected, we moved into logo and visual identity design.
Lotus imagery is common in health and wellness spaces, so the goal wasn’t novelty, it was distinction. The final logo uses overlapping, translucent blue forms to reflect the layered nature of psychological assessment and the careful process of untangling complex cognitive patterns.
As part of our visual design services, we delivered:
- A primary logo system
- Light and dark background variations
- Full-color and grayscale versions
- Print-ready assets for stationery and materials
This ensured the brand would work consistently across digital and print applications.
Website Version 1: Launching Quickly
To get the practice online efficiently, we initially launched the site on Squarespace. This allowed Blue Lotus to establish credibility and begin patient outreach quickly.
However, as content expanded, the limitations of page-by-page builders became clear:
- Visual cohesion required constant manual effort
- Functional add-ons increased costs without clear value
- Customization was limited by platform constraints
This made Squarespace a good temporary solution — but not a long-term one.
Website Version 2: A Custom, Sustainable Solution
Once the practice was established, we transitioned Blue Lotus to a custom website built with modern code, a fully configurable CMS, and reliable hosting.
This approach aligned with our custom website development services by offering:
- Fully custom, reusable page templates
- A content management system staff could edit confidently
- Faster performance and improved accessibility
- Complete control over design and functionality
Hosting the site ourselves keeps costs low while allowing room for future integrations, custom features, and expansion.
The result is a site that feels calm, clear, and professional — without being fragile or difficult to maintain.
Ongoing Support & Website Management
Blue Lotus is also one of our ongoing website management clients. We handle:
- Hosting configuration and monitoring
- Updates and technical maintenance
- Design refinements as needs change
- Support for content and structural adjustments
This allows the Blue Lotus team to focus on patient care while knowing their site is stable, secure, and supported.
